police are looking for a 41- year-old woman who took her children last night from their home in a rockville fairfield area. 10-year-old hadden and 5-year- old kayleigh both with blond hair and blue eyes. police fear for their safety because stewart's husband says she has been acting strangely. stewart is believed to be driving a red 1982 toyota corolla with california license plate 4ybn892. the vehicle's front hood is painted a differentiated of red from the rest of the vehicle. anyone who sees this group is asked to contact police. the coastguard right now is searching for one of two people missing after their boat capsized off san francisco's ocean beach. one man was pulled from the water about 3:00 p.m. and treated for hyopthermia. a coastguard helicopter is looking for the other person. it is not clear how the boat overturned but the waters were

quite choppy today. the community is calling for answers tonight after the murder of a popular restaurant owner shot and killed yesterday. he was shot on international boulevard just before dawn. police say it is a high profile case. don knapp joins us from oakland with the latest on the investigation. don. >> reporter: ann, as you know this community was already organizing to fight crime and violance at the time of the man's death. now many here see the death as additional motivation to really intensify efforts. sparked by the killing of popular restaurant owner jesus compost members of the international boulevard community are responding in numbers in fruitvale. this march for peace was organized under a city program to help communities measure why the event modified to honor the slain community and business leader. >> it was meant to honor all the lives we have lost here in the city of oakland because we

have had so many this year so they wanted to send out a message that the killings and shootings have to stop. >> reporter: police say compost was shot and killed in an apparent botched robbery as he arrived at his restaurant about 5:30 a.m. yesterday morning. the crime outraged the community. >> he worked 16 hours a day, seven days a week trying to help the community. he used to put events on here. he ends up here? it is just not right. >> reporter: city leaders returned to the neighborhood earlier today. >> i brought my deputy chiefs because i want them to hear from the residents. i come out and the mayor and i come out. i wanted my deputy chief and staff to be aware. we are trying to make an effort to be more accessible as a whole. >> reporter: the mayor says efforts in the community have already shown a drop in crime. >> despite these high profile crimes and despite the fact we have had more murders this year violent crime in the city is

still down 4% and crime overall is down 14%. so all of this organizing, the energy that you see from the community has been really making a difference. >> reporter: that may be what the charts show but some including a councilman disagree. >> crime is going down in some areas but the reality is there are armed robberies and the assaults of merchants and robberies a lot of people don't report them so it could be even higher. >> reporter: community leaders are hoping that reward now at $30,000 perhaps reaching $50,000 will encourage tips. they are asking people to call the tip line anonymously. 510-238-6946. reporting live in oakland, don knapp, cbs5. several hundred people turned out for a town hall meeting in oakland earlier today. the meeting was scheduled before the campost murder but the subject came up in the crowd. police say because the investigation is ongoing they are not answering specific

questions related to the case. but they say they will continue to put extra resources into the city's most dangerous areas including the fruitvale area where campost was killed. a sweep through another embattled oakland neighborhood led to 19 arrests. a prostitution sting at 17th on international boulevard resulted in 15 johns being arrested and one pimp. it was the subject of a community rally last month. four people are recovering after a small plane crash in southern california. a single engine beech craft bonanza slammed into a storage facility where the pilot was trying to lands. one of the passengers was seriously hurt but the other three suffered only minor injuries. the storage unit caught fire and was badly damaged. no one on the ground was hurt. scary moments elsewhere in the california skies today. an alaska airlines flight carrying 163 people had just

taken off from sacramento. it was on its way to hawaii when a bird struck one of the plane's engines. the passengers boarded another plane to maui after the pilot landed it safely. police are once again look for a convicted con artist. allen young. poses as motown celebrities to get wine and dined at bay area restaurants and bars. he was arrested back in october and is now wanted on a parole violation. the highway patrol's crackdown on distracted drivers is paying off. the chp says it wrote 979 tickets in the bay area in just two days. that's more than deputies typically write state wide in the same period. the campaign dubbed not worth the risk continues all month. and the name of san jose's airport could soon be quite a

mouthful. some city leaders including the mayor want to rename it san jose silicon valley moneta international airport. it could boost business at the struggling airport which just underwent a 1.3 billion makeover. no decision expected until next month. thousands of people lined up outside the oakland coliseum today. the attraction? free health care. anne makovec on the needs of so many and the volunteers there to meet them. >> reporter: it wasn't a game or a concert that had people lining up to spend the night outside the oakland coliseum, it is the promise of free health care. >> i came here yesterday evening at 11:00 p.m. >> i have been up since 5:00 a.m. friday morning. >> i made a perfect effort to be here at 11:00 p.m. >> reporter: all people with similar stories. >> i came here because i didn't have any insurance. >> i lost my insurance in 2009 when i lost my job. >> i have been unemployed since

august of '09. >> reporter: gail westman used to work at a print company. >> i also have got type ii diabetes. >> reporter: which means she needs testing supplies and medication. >> i'm trying to get somebody to prescribe them for you, you know. you pay through the nose with a doctor. >> reporter: today she is getting the work thanks to this clinic organized by the charity remote area medical which turned the coliseum into a city of clinics. optometrists, dental care and private visits with doctors, all volunteers. >> people can maybe afford medical and some can't afford dental and vision. >> reporter: the clinic will be here and will likely have an overnight line through tuesday helping up to 1000 people each day. >> i'm sleepy and tired and i'm hungry and -- >> reporter: but you're still smiling. >> i'm still smiling, yes. >> i'm very happy. >> reporter: and they are still

shutting down. museums and parks were open for business. the president went sightseeing and posed for pictures. a bay area landmark is open for business this weekend despite threats of a possible closure. thousands of people bought tickets to tour alkatraz this weekend. things could have been canceled but it didn't happen. >> we were out for pizza last night watching the t.v. just trying to figure out if we could go or not and they finally said they are going to extend the bargaining talks. >> a talks. while national parks remain open state parks here in california could soon close. nobody knows which ones. governor brown has asked the parks department to recommend which of the state's 278 parks to close to save money. so far no one is saying which parks are on the list. the state says it will continue to take reservations for

campsites and issue refunds if necessary. governor brown may be revising his budget strategy rather than taking tax extensions to the voters in june. a move republicans have blocked. the governor may ask the legislature to approve the extensions then give voters the opportunity to repeal them in september. a little chill in the area around the bay but lawrence promises warmer days ahead. his pinpoint forecast is next. ,, >> all news, all the time at.... ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

to date... a nerd. this is by match dot com. looking for a date. sunnyvale just name the number 1 spot in the nation to data nerd. researched the top 10 cities with members of the highest educations and technology. berkeley at number 4. santa clara was number 5. i was just asking lawrence if a meteorologist counts as a nerve and he laughed at me. >> my wife would say a weather geek. >> as long as you're delivering good weather we will keep you around. >> that's right. >> we are delivering some pretty nice weather although a bit windy around the bay area.

seabreeze pushing pretty strongly onshore. outside we go. golden gate bridge. really nice evening on tap so far. not much in the way of cloud cover. mostly clear skies just about everywhere you go but we will probably see a couple of patches of fog developing out toward the coastline. at the tower the wind is blowing in the trees. that will be the big concern through the evening hours then the winds should diminish as we head into the latter part of the night. otherwise, we have high pressure trying to build in overhead. you get the sense that area of low pressure that brought the showers yesterday moving on by and means we are looking at a pretty good evening. tomorrow should be mostly sunny. look at mile temperatures. will start warming up a little bit more. plenty of sunshine inside the bay. maybe a couple patches of fog out towards the coastline. numbers right now a little cool in spots. already down to 51 in san francisco. 53 in san rafael. 59 in concord. if you plan on traveling around the state you'll find sunshine. 68 in fresno. patchy fog into the monterey bay at 61.

high country, you want to get up there skiing, looking good for tomorrow but monday a chance of showers and mixture of some snowflakes. so some spring skiing conditions as we head into monday drying out on tuesday. and some pretty nice weather. looks like high pressure trying to sneak in here but some will be a quick hitter. the system behind it will likely drop over the top of the ridge bringing the chance of rain possibly again on monday. for tomorrow enjoy the mostly sunny skies. a little breezy out toward the coastline so if you're head that direction make sure you bring a jacket with you. still overnight lows in the 30s and 40s. by day looking pretty good in toward the afternoon. mostly sunny in santa clara about 63 degrees there. about 65 in morgan hill. 63 in redwood city. east bay temperatures some of the warmer spots about 68 in brentwood. 67 in antioch. north bay cool out towards the coast. numbers into the 50s. head inland you'll find plenty of 60s and lots of sunshine to

go along with that. a slight chance of some showers as we head in toward monday. most of that will be north of the golden gate bridge. the rest of it just some passing clouds. we dry things out come tuesday. another system drops in on wednesday. thursday, friday, high pressure beginning back in. 70s making a return in the bay area. looking pretty good over the next seven days. that's a look at weather. here is kim coyle with sports. >> thank you, lawrence. one bay area coach is headed to the hall of fame. plus, moving day at the masters. could anyone catch 21-year-old rory mcilroy? find out next in sports. >> my goodness. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

rounds... but with the pressure a chance we could see a first time-time winners at the masters. second youngest winner at the masters he would be. i don't know how well he is sleepingback east in augusta. first two rounds. with the pressure to win a major mounting the course was able to get a little revenge on saturday. >> very hard. >> tiger. >> tiger began the day three shots back but a rough day on the greens may cost him a fifth jacket. he bogeyed the first, had a birdie putt lip out on the second and his putt on the fifth pretty much sums up the

rest of his rounds. shooting two over 74. jason day looks like he was going to run away with it early. he birdies three of the first five holes. none prettier than the long putt on the fifth hole to get to 11 under and all alone on the top of the leaderboard. k.j. choi running into trouble on the seventh. sinks the putt off the brink. shoots a 71 and eight under through 54 holes. day doesn't get the chip on 13 high enough on the green. and it ends up back where it started. as does day who shoots an even par 72. rory mcilroy was one over through 12 holes but finished strong with birdies on 15, 16, 17. the 21 year old is now 12 under for the tournament taking a four shot lead into the final round. >> i have been talking about it

with my little team all year. just wanted to play stress free golf. i felt as if last year i had a chance to win a lot of tournaments and i didn't do it just by making a few little mistakes here and there. >> when you look back on this round will you be pleased with what the played? >> pleased but had nothing. had a couple of three putts out there. so not very good. >> four guys are four shots behind rory. he will be paired with the 2009 masters winner cabrera who had a five under. as offense was supposed to be new and improved this season but through the first seven games they have combined for only 23 runs. twin fans may have been the only thing colder than the as bats. gonzalez with an e.r.a.

2010. the stanford football team took over for the spring game and fans got a chance to see a heisman canada date for free. he would have been the topic in the nfl draft had he went pro. instead he is back on the offense. >> holy crap. >> long time coach inducted into the california coach's association hall of fame this summer. he coached fremont john f. kennedy high school for 40 years which is the longest run by any coach in california state history. >> when i reach the pearly gates and i bump into st. peter he won't ask me how many games i won in the nbal or overall, he will want to know what i did
